The microphone is not responding
Open Legal & Privacy in Vocal Light and confirm microphone processing is allowed. Then check iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Microphone features remain off until you start Sing or range measurement.
Bluetooth notes or chords are silent
Confirm the headphones are selected as the iPhone audio output and keep the read-only iPhone volume at 50% or below. After connecting or changing a route, tap the reference note or chord again.
Reference playback stopped
Vocal Light stops its generated playback when iOS reports an iPhone volume above 50%, when the app becomes inactive, or after certain route changes. Lower the iPhone volume, return to Vocal Light, and tap the reference again.
Guitar / Piano follows the instrument
Keep the iPhone closer to your mouth than the instrument. This mode is accompaniment-aware practice, not guaranteed source separation; it can follow the instrument, choose a wrong octave, or miss a note.
A note or range looks wrong
Pitch and range results are estimates. Check the octave, repeat a comfortable note, enter your range manually, or use Full Reset. Never force a note to satisfy the display.
Clear saved practice data
Open Legal & Privacy and choose Clear Saved Practice Data. Delete the app to remove the remaining local app container, including device-local acceptance history.
